In honor of Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras on March 4, prekindergarten and kindergarten students in Jeanene Crawson’s class felt the spirit of this special holiday. As the people of New Orleans celebrated with parades and indulgent treats before the Christian season of Lent began, our students crafted Mardi gras masks adorned with traditional colors. The students learned that gold symbolized faith, green for power and purple for justice. It was a fun and creative way to bring a little bit of New Orleans to Woodhull School.
